Ernest Lee Morton, age 76, a resident of Hohenwald, formerly of Columbia, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his residence.

Born on October 25, 1946, in Maury County, Ernest was the son of the late Elvis Morton and the late Mary B. Dale Morton. He worked as a security guard at Lasko Products, LLC for many years. He was an avid wrestling fan. Ernest was extremely kind and generous; he loved everyone, and everyone loved him.

He is survived by his brothers, George (Vonna) Morton and Jerry Morton, both of Hohenwald, and Floyd Morton of Columbia; sister, Margaret Ann Kendall of Hohenwald; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Doug and Marilyn McCandless.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Columbia Freewill Baptist Church in Columbia.

Heritage Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
