Morgan, Judy Dorton
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judy Dorton Morgan, of the Pinewood Community, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, who passed away surrounded by her family on March 27, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on July 10, 1948, in Centerville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Charles Dorton and Jessie Harris. Judy graduated from Duarte High School in Duarte, CA (1966). On November 9th, 1969, she married the love of her life, Elton Morgan, with whom she shared 53 beautiful years of happiness and adventure. Together, they raised three children who became her pride and joy.
She was known for her vibrant personality and her grand sense of humor. Judy was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, whose music filled her home and heart with joy for many years. She was a lifelong, devoted Tennessee Vols fan, spending countless hours watching them compete in various sports.
In addition to her love for music and the Tennessee Vols, she was a successful, hard-working woman who built a career in a variety of fields. Judy worked at Levi Strauss in Centerville for over 20 years, where her work ethic and leadership were admired by all who knew her. Judy, along with her husband, were proud owners of C & G Meat Processing in Bon Aqua; she also made her mark in the real estate industry, where she provided countless families with the dream of home ownership. Her ability to balance her professional life with her deep commitment to her family is a testament to her character and devotion.
Above all, Judy will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. Her nurturing spirit, kind heart, and laughter filled every room she entered. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, perseverance, and love that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Judy is survived by her children, Greg (Tina) Morgan, of Dickson, Tennessee, Ginger Greene of Nunnelly, Tennessee, and Cody (Melissa) Morgan of Pinewood, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Brittany (Andrew) Hutchinson of Primm Springs, Tennessee, Brittany (Denny) Williams of Dickson, Tennessee, Terry (Darby) Morgan of Houston, County, Tennessee, Anthony (Madison) Hutchinson of Nunnelly, Tennessee, Harley Morgan of Pinewood, Tennessee, and Colt Morgan of Pinewood, Tennessee, and Dakota Morgan of Dickson, Tennessee; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Sharon Bass of Centerville, Tennessee and Amy Brown of Hohenwald, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Dorton and Jessie Harris, her beloved husband, Lee “Elton” Morgan, sister, Theenie Rodgers, son-in-law, Jerry Greene, brother-in-law, Dale Brown and brother-in-law, Jimmy Bass.
Visitation with the family will be 4 April 2025 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be 4 April 2025 at 6:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.
