Monroe, Elizabeth G
Ms. Elizabeth G. Monroe peacefully passed from this earthly world on February 6, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Ms. Monroe was born in Decatur, IL on April 6, 1947, to the late John and Genevieve Linne Hymer. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son John Ray and an infant brother. She was a member of Piney Baptist Church in Hohenwald.
She spent her life caring for not only her family but everyone around her. She had a combined 44 years of nursing service as an LPN. Being a nurse wasn’t her only true calling. Elizabeth was a foster mother to over 100 children in Tennessee for over 20 years. Her love and compassion helped shaped these children into the people they are today. During her quiet time, she enjoyed getting lost in the chapters of a good book or cuddling with her six fur babies. On the warmer days she could be seen riding the golf cart in the valley visiting friends, watching the river, or just sitting on her porch taking in the beauty that surrounded her. Her biggest joy was time spent with family and the memories they made.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Bekki (Bob) Stevens and Marti (Don) Price; grandchildren Libbi Ferguson, Scottie Baldwin, Brittany Rosson, Zachary Price, Brandy Price, and Benjamin Price; and great grandchildren Daniel Young, Nikki Rosson, Robert Price, and Elisabeth Price who will be joining the family in July.
Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday February 12, 2022, from 11:00 until time of service of 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Tom Seiber Cemetery with brother Rex Reed officiating.
