Arlene Mitchell, 77, of Smyrna died Monday, June 24, 2002. She was a native of Lawrence County and a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Elma Amanda Brooks Mitchell. She was a retired caregiver and attended the Division Street Church of Christ in Smyrna. The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill. She is survived by two daughters, Benita Hughes and Brenda Henson of Smyrna; Jimmy (Michelle) Henson of Eagleville; a sister, Virginia Timmons of Carson City, Nevada; a brother, Tom Mitchell of Chapel Hill; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
