Sara Ellen Malugin Amacher, 95, of Hohenwald, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at NHC Tullahoma.

She was born on October 11, 1924, in Centerville, TN, to Robert Percy and Nancy Pearl (Harrison) Malugin. She graduated from Hickman County High School in Centerville, TN. In 1949, she married the love of her life, W.C. “Buddy” Amacher. They were married for 55 years until his passing in 2005. Mrs. Amacher was a member of the Hohenwald Church of Christ. She was employed at Lewis County Elementary School for several years as an educational assistant in Special Ed.

Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Any day that she could spend outdoors was a good day to her. She loved being outside when the weather allowed, and she enjoyed being on the beach as well. However, her family was her number one priority.

She is survived by Janis (Randy) Curtis, Daughter-Panama City, FL; Lisa (Randall) Morrison, Daughter-Tullahoma, TN; Glen (Shirley) Malugin, Brother-Nashville, TN; Amy (Casey) Hagee, Granddaughter-Vierra, FL; Kelly (Sean) McGonigle, Granddaughter-Keller, TX; Michael (Misty) Curtis, Grandson-Panama City, FL; Hayley (Will) Lockhart, Granddaughter-Tullahoma, TN; and great grandchildren: Madison & Emma Hagee, Aidan & Emmie McGonigle, Timothy Lockhart, and McKenzie, Maycee, Madylinn, & Michael James Curtis; several nieces and nephews, and also a special caregiver, Kathy Brasfield-Hohenwald, TN.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Hayes Malugin; and sisters, Emma Jean Bratton and Mary Nell Nickell.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at 12:00 PM, at the McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.   Greg Smith will officiate.   Burial will follow in the Swiss Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
