Richard Wayne Wix was born in Cookeville, TN on October 30, 1948 to the late Clara Mae Thomas and Earnie Wix. He passed away on March 3, 2020 at the age of 71. Richard served two tours in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. From 1970 to 1997 he worked as a welder for the CSMS in Smyrna, TN. He retired from military service at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was also a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Bettilynn Wix, and his grandchild, Julian Wix. He is survived by his daughter, Misty Parrish; son, Kyle Wayne Wix; grandchildren, William Evan Davis, Brennen Michael Davis, Briar Dawson Rye, and Shelbilynn Wix; and his military brother, John Wilson.

A masonic service for Richard Wayne Wix will be held on Friday, March 7 at 7:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.

A visitation for the Wix family will be held on 6 March 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on  7 March 2020 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  A funeral service for Richard Wayne Wix will be held at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County on 7 March 2020 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Springer Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN where full military honors will be presented.
