Mary Lou Cotham Morton, 89, of Hohenwald passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at her home.

It was said in her family that we spend our lives here on earth in order to get to our eternal home, and Granny Mary Lou paved the way and showed us how that’s done.

She was born in Lewis County on September 12, 1930, to Thomas and Cassie Cotham. She married Eunice Morton and they raised their family here in Hohenwald. She worked at Walmart for most of her career and touched many lives along the way.

Though losing her is difficult, it is hard to be sad when you know that she was reunited with her loved ones in Heaven. She is finally living in perfect peace.

She is survived by a son, Kenney (Jane) Morton, of Hohenwald, TN, a daughter, Jo Anne (Billy) Jackson, of Hohenwald, TN, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by 5 brothers: Bob Cotham, Otto Cotham, Thomas Cotham, Jr., Jessie Cotham, and Willie (Fat) Cotham; and 2 sisters: Vera Baker and Mae Campbell.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020, at 2:00PM in the Whitehead Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN with Jeff Spears officiating.
