Kenneth George Scates, Sr. was born March 30. 1943, and died on August 20, 2020 at the age of 77. A native of Center Star he was the son of the late Mitchell and Mary McGill Scates.
Mr. Scates is survived by his wife Mable Dansby Scates, sons Kenneth Scates Jr., Steven Scates, Raymond Scates, daughter Melba T. Scates, sisters Sara Cowan, Dorothy Scates, Clara Moore, Mary Flagg, and brother Joe Scates, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild
Mr. Scates was a member of the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran.

Visitation with the family will be 28 August 2020 from 6;00 – 8:00 PM at Columbia Avenue Church of Christ, Centerville, TN.  Funeral Services will be held on 29 August 2020 at 11:00 AM in the McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN, at 12:00 PM.
