A native of Goodrich, Mr. Joe Bryant Staggs, 86, was the son of the late William Bryant and Irene Harrington Staggs.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a retiree of Ford Motor Company in Michigan. Mr. Staggs was an avid hunter and a member of the Shipps Bend Church of Christ. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann Staggs, son, Michael James Staggs, brothers, Benny Staggs, Bobby Staggs, his sisters, Lorene Thornton, Elizabeth Gilbert, Frankie Hyndman, Bonnie Lancaster, and Edna Staggs.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Shelton Staggs, son, Joe Bryant (Sue) Staggs, Jr. of Howell, Michigan, and daughter, Sharon (Rod) St. Charles of Fowlerville, Michigan; four grandchildren, Alyssa Staggs, Garrett St. Charles, Jordan St. Charles, and Lauren St. Charles, three great-grandchildren, and three step-children, Tony Shelton of Las Vegas, Nevada, Diane Alexander of Las Vegas, Nevada, and special step-daughter, Sandi Shelton of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Visitation will be 10 January 2020 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County.  The funeral will be held 11 January 2020 at 10:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County.   Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
