Billie “Bill” Roy Shanes was born on November 17, 1936 to the late Beth Carroll Wildridge and Willie Shanes. He passed away on May 13, 2020 at the age of 83. Bill served in the United States Army and was an MP (Military Police). He spent most of his professional career in law enforcement as a detective. He was a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Harry Murrell Chapter of Disabled American Veterans in Dickson, TN.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Charlie James Shanes. He is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce Shanes; son, Roy Shanes; step-children, Alisa, Tina, Barry, and Ronnie; nephew, Chris Shanes; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; as well as several cousins.

A graveside service for Billie Roy Shanes will be held on May 15, 2020, at 2 PM in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Centerville, TN.
