Austin Peay Herbison was born on April 24, 1933 in the Sugar Creek area of Hickman County, Tennessee and died April 28, 2020, in Centerville at the age of 87 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother Eula Peeler Herbison and his father, William Thomas Herbison.

Mr. Herbison is survived by his wife of 60 years Ruth English Herbison; brother, Thomas Ezra Herbison; brother-in-laws, Horst English (Helga) and Peter English (Eursula); niece, Debbie Atkinson; nephews, James Herbison and Gary Herbison (Carla); great-nieces, Amy Gossett, Mattie Herbison, Rachel McCaleb, and Jennifer Stoops; great-nephews, Lucas Atkinson and Thomas Herbison; as well as other family members and friends.

Austin married his bride on July 19, 1959 in Berlin, Germany. Upon returning to the states, they made a life together as he continued his service. Austin retired as Senior Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force and the National Guard with 28 years of service. During his retirement, he and Ruth enjoyed traveling in their camper and loving their dog. Austin was a member of the Fairfield Baptist Church.

Graveside Services will be held on 1 May 2020 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
