Mayberry, Robert David
In fond remembrance of Robert “Bobby” David Mayberry, age 92, of Centerville, Tennessee who left this earthly life on February 9, 2024. Bobby was born on January 14, 1932, to the late Thomas Calvin Mayberry and Gladys Hudspeth Mayberry in the Twomey Community of Centerville, Tennessee.
Bobby grew up in the Woodland Heights community of Centerville, along with seven siblings. When he became of age, Bobby joined the army and dutifully served in Korea, then in the reserves for two years. Bobby received his baptism at the Coble Church of Christ in 1955, in the Beaver Dam creek by B.B. James. On December 23rd of the same year, Bobby married Joyce Garner. They were later blessed with a son, Anthony “Tony” Mayberry. Bobby worked for the Nashville Bridge Company as a Machinist, and later moved onto Peffen Machine Co., where he later retired.
In addition to his parents Bobby is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Mayberry Jr., brother, Bill Mayberry, brother, Fred Mayberry, sisters, Louise Bates, Wanda Rochelle and Patsy Hannah.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce Mayberry of Centerville, Tennessee, son, Anthony “Tony” (Cynthia) of Ashland City, Tennessee, sister, Mary Golovich, grandson, Jordan Anthony Mayberry of Ashland City, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews. Joyce would like to thank a special niece, Linda Bates Crosby, who helped take care of Bobby, and a dear nephew, Calvin Mayberry, for their love.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Memory Gardens and will include military honors.
