Ellen Mae Mathis, age 77, born February 15, 1927 in Wayne Co., TN, died March 21, 2004 at her residence in Hohenwald, TN. The funeral will be held at: McDonald Funeral Home Inc, March 23, 2004 at 3:00 PM. The officiating clergy will be Jimmy Garner, Rick Brewer. Burial will take place March 23, 2004 in the Whitehead Cemetery, Waynesboro, TN. Visitation will be March 2, 2004 5:00 PM. Survivors include sons, Danny, Jackie, and Terry Mathis; brother, Maunice Hendrix; sisters, Margie Whitehead, Helen Anderson, and Geraldine Griffin; Two Step Grandchildren; Four Step Great Grandchildren; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, William J. Mathis, James R. and Nona Mae (Edwards) Hendrix, brother, Billy Hendrix, and sister, Betty Jo McLean. She was a member of the Member Sweetwater Church of Christ.
