Daisy Evelyn Melton Martin,  87 of Hohenwald passed away December 23, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.  She was born in Hohenwald to the late Horace Eugene Melton and Edith Reed Melton Patterson on January 29,1932.  Also preceding her in death was stepfather Melvin (Peter) Patterson.  Her first job was in Nashville at Bell South. After leaving Bell South she began her 30-year career with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools where she had immense joy driving for Children with special needs.

Ms. Martin is survived by a daughter, Tammy Martin Newman; a son, David Glenn Martin; grandchildren Corey Lee Newman and Feacha Gay Whitaker; siblings, Ronnie (Slick) Melton (Peggy), Daryl (Louise) Patterson, Wilma Jean Melton, Helen (Andy) San Miguel, and Shirley (Charles) Garland. 

Along with her parents Ms. Martin is also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Glenn Corbett Martin; a daughter, Sharon Whitaker; and sisters, Patricia Melton Elliott, and Delores (CheeChee) Melton McCaleb.

A visitation with the family will be held Thursday December 26 from 4-8pm and Friday December 27 from 10:00 until the time of service in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation. The funeral service will be Friday at 12:00 with brother Bill Webb and. Rev. Joe Gray officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.  Pall Bearers for the service will be Armando San Miguel, Chris Melton, Brian Melton, David Pope, Bubba Patterson, and David Romero.
