Sara Marcelles, nee Bates, formerly of Jackson, Tennessee, died September 20, 2021, in Westchester, Illinois, at the age of 92 years.

Mrs. Marcelles was born August 22, 1929, in Duck River, Tennessee, to the late Harrell and Mattie Bates.

She was the beloved wife of the late Norman; loving mother of Cheryl Lynne (Gordy) Ehorn, Susan (Jeff) Martin and the late Robert Patterson; proud grandmother of Scott (Cassie) Patterson, Robin Patterson, Jennifer Patterson, Daniel (Jessica) Weglarz, Ashley Ross, Sarah Jo (Derek) Neuman and Bradley Newman; great-grandmother of Allison, David, Tyler, Casey Jo, Austin, Zachary, Scott, as well as several great great-grandchildren; dear sister of Barbara (late Ray) Richardson, Jimmie (late Joyce) Bates, Elizabeth (late Steve) Antalek, Larry Bates, the late Wallace (Eva) Bates and the late Jackie Bates; fond aunt of many.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Road, Westchester,  on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at Anderson Bend Cemetery, Duck River, Tennessee, on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Anderson Bend Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
