The following obituary was posted on the Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home website:
Tessia Lee Luchard, 58, passed from this earth surrounded by her loving family into the arms of her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2023 in Quinlan, Texas, after her courageous two year long battle with lung cancer.
Tessia was born on September 28, 1964 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the first child of James and Victoria Lee. At an early age Tessia moved with her family to Mesquite, Texas, where she resided for over 40 years. She graduated with the Mesquite High School Class of 1982. She went on to marry Tommy Anthamatten, Jr. and had three children together. Their bond was strong even after dissolving the marriage and remained lifelong friends.
Many years later, God’s divine plan for Tessia became evident when Tessia met the love of her life, Carroll Luchard, while working as a customer service representative at a call center in Tennessee. Carroll was a customer who called to cancel his services and instead ended up driving from Georgia to Tennessee to meet Tessia and took her on a date. Shortly after meeting they were married on April 26, 2014. From then on, Carroll and Tessia were inseparable. Together they were able to travel the country through Carroll’s work as a long haul truck driver, until her illness prevented it.
Tessia spent the majority of her life working with her hands. She had a passion for working in her family business of clock repair and was a collector of fine timepieces. Tessia was also a major Coca-Cola drinker and collector of all types of Coca-Cola memorabilia. Tessia attended various Christian churches over her lifetime and she very much enjoyed building gift boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Ministry Operation Christmas Child. Tessia was passionate about her children and thrived taking them to their sports and activities, watching them explore and grow under her wings.
Most recently, she delighted in vacationing with her husband. They were able to enjoy many beautiful vacations together traveling to Jamaica, Bahamas, Florida, and Arkansas, just to name a few! Her most favorite vacation was their cruise to Alaska in 2019.
Above all else, Tessia was an amazing Mimi. She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren and was intentional in teaching them about the Lord. She adored spending quality time with them such as reading to them, making crafts, cooking with them and taking them on special outings. Even until the very end, being with her grandchildren filled her with joyful purpose.
Tessia is survived by her husband, Carroll Luchard, her parents James and Victoria Lee; her children Kassidy (Josh) Perkins, Karen (Chris) Rhoades, Trey (Kaley) Anthamatten; her grandchildren Tiffany, Caleb, Carlton, Blaze, Hazel and Charleigh Faith. She also leaves behind her sisters: Shelley (Billy) Rogers, and Jamie (Jason) Lee. In addition, she is also survived by Carroll’s son Tommy (Kayla) Luchard and their five children. Tessia will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday April 5, 2023, at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX at 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Tessia’s Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeview Church in Quinlan, TX, on April 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM, followed immediately with a graveside service at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, TX.
