Joe Thomas Long, age 63, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted today, Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11:00 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home with Johnny Clayton, minister of Kimmins Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in the Kimmins Cemetery. Mr. Long was born, July 28, 1947 in Lewis County to the late Joe Edward and Ila Elizabeth DePriest Long. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic and bus driver for Lewis County Schools. Survivors include his wife, Veneida Kay Garrett Long of Hohenwald; two sons, Jared Long (Alaina) of Hohenwald and Beau Long of Franklin; one daughter, Kara Farr (Matthew) of Hohenwald; one sister, Lura Talley of Summertown; three grandsons, Blake and Cole Farr and Jaxon Long, all of Hohenwald; and one granddaughter, Jerika Long of Lawrenceburg
