Litton, Douglas Lee
Douglas Lee Litton, a hardworking family man, passed away on July 21, 2024, at the age of 76 in Lyles, Tennessee. Douglas was born to the late J.T. and Dorothy Litton in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 19, 1948.
During his high school years, Douglas was part of the FFA. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for farming and rural life, instilling in him values of hard work, leadership, and community service. Douglas pursued his passion for agriculture by helping his father manage the local feed store for many years. After graduation from Hickman County High School, Douglas married his grade school sweetheart, Paula, in 1969. This was the beginning of a lifelong partnership that spanned over five decades. Their love story, which began in the innocence of childhood, blossomed into a deep and enduring bond that weathered the trials and joys of life together.
Douglas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, finding joy in the company of his family. He and Paula built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Douglas enjoyed westerns and his quiet time in his latter days.
In addition to his parents, Douglas is preceded in death by his loving wife, Paula, and sister Rhonda Ann Litton.
Those left to cherish his memory are their two children, Jonathan (Julie) Litton and Camillia (James) Taylor, sister, Carol (Harold) Suggs, seven grandchildren, Colton (Jessica) Carroll, Jaclyn (Chase) Thompson, Lane Litton, Ethan (Ruthanne) Litton, Morgan (Kearstin Tuten) Taylor, Jordyn Litton, and the youngest Harley Taylor, four great grandchildren Katie Carroll, Hudsyn Thompson, Kara Carroll and Harrisyn Thompson.
Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 24, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville and will continue until the time of the Funeral service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Bill McDonald will officiate with burial to follow in the Groves Cemetery in Lyles, TN.
