Lindsey, Kay Rochelle
Kay Rochelle Lindsey passed away peacefully in Nashville on December 12, 2022.
She was born on January 8, 1937, in Lewis County. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Florence Lee Christian Rochelle, Thomas Jefferson Rochelle, James Wesley Anderson, and Ruth Isabelle Harber Anderson; parents, William Rochelle of Nashville and Willie Anderson Rochelle Zingarell of Mt. Pleasant. She was married to James Wesley Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant for 30 years until his death in 2015.
Mrs. Lindsey graduated from Hay Long High School in 1955 and attended Columbia Business College. She was the first woman from Mt. Pleasant to acquire her real estate license and retired in 1994 after a successful career with White Woodard Realty.
Kay was first a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hohenwald, followed by membership at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Other affiliations included the James K. Polk Memorial Association, the Tennessee Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Maury County Historical Society.
Kay is survived by her three children, Michael Timothy Brown (Tara), William Mark Brown, and Elizabeth Rochelle Brown Wieck (Adam). She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Brittany Nichols (Jesse), Mallory Harris (Robert), Blair Daniel (Clark), Mitch Brown (Brooke), Mary Morgan Burks (Taylor), Georgia Grace Brown, Kayla Berklacich (Mac), and Hayden Wieck (Jordan); 11 great-grandchildren, Bradley Nichols, Harper Nichols, Kennedy Nichols, Lillian Daniel, Barrett Daniel, Greyson Brown, Wyatt Brown, Gravlee Burks, Lucy Burks, Weller Berklacich, Ruby Wieck; and cousins, Ann Russell and Willodene Petway.
A memorial service was held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
