Ligon, Rosa Avalee
Mrs. Rosa Avalee Ligon was born in Lyles, TN on January 24, 1929 to the late Hubert and Rosa Cooper Litton and entered eternal rest in Bon Aqua, TN on October 20, 2023 at the age of 94 years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ligon is preceded in death by her husband Bennie Ligon, brothers Tom Litton and Kenneth Litton. She is survived by her daughters, Georgia Ligon and Benetta Ligon, two sisters-in-law, along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Mrs. Ligon enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and basket weaving. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Hickman County and the Hickman County FCE Homemakers Extension Club.
Mrs. Ligon was an inspiring educator who possessed an unwavering passion for learning and teaching. She dedicated 27 years of her life to shaping the minds of the next generation. Her commitment to the betterment of her students was evident in every lesson she delivered, every smile she shared, and every encouraging word she offered. She taught at Martin Tidwell school, Lyles and Wrigley schools, Little Rock school and East Elementary from which she retired.
Mrs. Ligon will be remembered for her love of God and family, her unwavering dedication to education, her passion for teaching, and the positive impact she had on the lives of many. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten, and her influence will continue to shape the minds of future generations.
Visitation with the family will be 26 Oct 2023 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County. Graveside Services will be 27 Oct 2023 at 11:00 AM at Albert Green Cemetery, Bon Aqua, TN.
