SMITH Seeking info re possible parents of my great-grandmother Samantha Victoria SMITH b. 1868 TN. Her parents may be Simeon b. abt 1831 TN (s/o Wiley b. abt 1804 SC & Mary A. b. abt 1803 TN) and Elizabeth A. b. abt 1836 TN. If so her siblings would be Effie/Affa, John W., William, Martha J., Artemious Albertine (m. Brown), Mollie Edna, Margrett F., and Beckie S. Also she is known to have a brother Lewis who I cannot connect to this TN family, so have my doubts. Simeon found in Lewis and Perry Counties of TN 1850-1880. Samantha shows up in Randolph County, AR, and her mother in Ripley Co., MO, in 1885. Any help appreciate on this brick wall.

DOWNEY John Richard (Dickie) Downey, born in Charleston area of South Carolina September 23,1818, died May 16,1898 in Lewis County. He was a County Squire, County Court Clerk and Lewis County Trustee. Spent many years in public service in Lewis County. RAINWATER, RAINWATERS Was Hohenwald once in Maury Co, before Lewis Co was formed in 1842? I have been told there were some RAINWATERS in the area as early as 1800. Can anyone confirm this? My ggg grandfather, William Rainwater, was born in TN in 1806. I am having trouble locating parents and a place of birth for him. I have info on his descendants to share. Any help appreciated.

BELL Looking for information on Lucius M. Bell of Lewis County. He supposedly appears on the 1850 Lewis County census. He also lived in Maury and Hickman Counties. 1838-died abt 1907), his wife, Mary Erwin (aka; ERWINE,

Wayne County. Elihu owned land in the Riverside/Perry

KNOWN CHILDREN: Mary Ann Fite, Elias J Fite, Wesley A Fite, Arrena Fite, Jacob Fite, Jr, William Fletcher Fite, Henry Pinkney Fite, Peter Francis Fite, James Kalvin Fite, Sarah Elizabeth Fite, Leory Douglas Fite. Descendants lived in Lewis Co, TN. Some later moved to AR, TX and OK.

JENNINGS, KIRKMAN, POLLOCK, ROBNETT/ROBINETT, I have been made recently aware of a ROBNETT/ROBINETT connection in my POLLOCK/KIRKMAN line. Rachel Delony POLLOCK, born 20 Aug 1828 in Lawrence Co,TN, died after 1920 most likely in Wayne Co, TN, daughter of John and Elizabeth JENNINGS POLLOCK, married Joseph Staggs ROBNETT, born 4 May 1828 in Wayne Co, TN, died 25 Jun 1905 in Wayne Co, TN, son of John and Nancy STAGGS ROBNETT, in Wayne Co, TN on 5 Sep 1849. My source for this information is a book, DESCENDANTS OF ALLEN ROBNETT IN AMERICA, PART IV by Irma Matthews Plott. The book was found in the Wayne Co, TN library, Waynesboro, TN by a fellow Pollock researcher, Imogene Parsley, July 13, 1999. Jean mailed me photocopies of pertinent pages. But, there is no documentation, index or pages numbers. I spent all day today in the NC Archives going through the 1850-1920 Wayne Co, TN censuses to verify the information. So far, the information, though sketchy, is correct. Some of the line remained in Wayne Co until 1900 or 1910 but my husband could only find one of the children in the 1920 Wayne Co Census? Rachel ROBNETT was found in the household of her daughter, Sallie Robnett WEST. Rachel was 91 years old in 1920. Does anyone know of others researching this particular ROBNETT/ROBINETT line? It is my hope that someone may have information or can point me to someone that will be of help.

HICKERSON, HENRY I am looking for any information on Hickersons that lived in or about Hohenwald until about 1920. It was a large family and my great-grandfather, Henry, moved to Nashville.
