BOYD, WELLS, BOID Need parents of Susannah BOYD (Boid) who married Enos WELLS Maury Co., but lived in Lewis Co. in the 1850 census. They moved on to
Orange Co. Indiana. Enos was from a Quaker family. I should like to know if there was a Quaker settlement in Lewis County.

TURNBOW I am descended from Calvin TURNBOW. His mother was Jane TURNBOW, with his grandfather being George TURNBOW. I heard that there was a court document in which his grandfather, George, swore Calvin was his grandson. Does anyone know which type of court such a document would be in? orphans? family? The family lived in Lewis County for many years. Calvin was born about 1834.

WOOD I am looking for The Frenilhausen WOOD family in 1870 Lewis County. His wife was named Nancy and should have children listed named Margaret, William, and John/James. CLENDENIN, HARRIS Charles CLENDENIN’s probate records are in Lewis County, filed by widow Frances HARRIS (remarried and widowed again) 1847. Can find no burial site for him, only later reference for her is Harris name with Clendenin children in 1850 Lawrence County census. Any help?

SMITH Jesse SMITH, Semion SMITH, Wiley SMITH – Looking for descendants and siblings of these three Smiths listed in Lewis County Census in 1880. Jesse Smith may have been Confederate Veteran of Biffle’s 19th Tennessee Calvary Regiment. Believe this family are ancestors of Jesse William Smith born in Lewis County, 13 June 1886. Jesse William migrated to Claiborne County, Mississippi before 1910. No other information is known of Jesse before he arrived in Mississippi.

James & Sallie are buried in Palestine Cem. Children included: Louisa Ellen Victoria DEAN (1881-1965), James C. Marion DEAN (1886-1908) bur. Palestine Cem., Edward Davis DEAN (1888-1914) bur. Palestine Cem., Robert E. Lee DEAN (1884-1907) bur. Lankford Cem. “killed by his brother Marion”, Annie M. DEAN (1890-?). According to her death notice thanks Shirley!),Sallie was blind for 36 years at the time of her death, and was survived by 2 daughters:Mrs. CLAY & Mrs. Lee HARRIS. Which daughter is which? BRIDGES, HENRY My great-grandfather named Risdon Baxter Bridges, daughter-Nancy Rebecca Bridges born April, 1905 in Lewis county. She was born in Allen Creek town or city, or road?I can’t find that city, I have the certificate of birth. WHITFIELD, MOORE Searching for Emma Whitfield who married Charlie Moore. Had two Children, Cynthia Jane Moore (circa 1890)and a son Allen Jackson Moore (born March 20, 1896) in Tennessee.Charlie Moore died at the age of 45 and Emma Whitfield Moore died at the age of 39. CREAMER, HENSLEY Does anyone have any info on James “Jim” Creamer (1862-1951). He was first married to Susan Louise Lynn, who died in 1902(?) and later married Altha ? (1882-1955). One of Jim and Altha’s daughters, Myrtle first married Frank? Goodman, and later married James Hensley. Not sure about her birth or death dates.
