LaFond, David Byron
David Byron LaFond, 82 of Hohenwald, passed away at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. LaFond was born in Connecticut on October 29,1937.
David Byron LaFond was said to be a quiet man with an easy smile. He would set goals and never settle for second best. He was class valedictorian, an eagle scout with full clusters, a lieutenant in the United States Navy, a Chief engineer for Hospital Corp. of America and State President of Florida hospital engineer’s association.
Above all his accomplishments he was a family man. All the families that he was part of were better because he was at the helm. He taught all that would take the time to listen to be the best they could be, and he would always be there to listen and guide them along the journey but also occasionally pull them out of bad situations. He was a humble man, never wanting to flaunt his accomplishments or his wealth of knowledge. With a smile and a joke, he was a man of great influence and love.
Mr. Lafond is survived by his wife Carol Halbrooks LaFond; Children Michael, Mari and Liberty; three stepchildren, six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cancer has taken David from his earthly family, but we know that God can use a good engineer and family man. He will be greatly missed but his pain is over.
Visitation will be held Tuesday November 5,2019 from 9:00-3:00 in the funeral home chapel. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 3:00pm. No burial will take place.
