King, Carolyn Ann
Carolyn Ann King, affectionately known as Mawmaw by all who knew and loved her, was born in Lyles, TN on March 29, 1940 to the late James Ernest and Ethel Elizabeth Nash Breece and entered into rest in Nashville, TN on December 1, 2024 at the age of 84 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Jimmy D. King, sisters Rachel Bass, Ida Mae McFarlin, Mildred Stinson and brothers Wayne Breece, Claude Breece, and Don Breece. She is survived by her daughter Valerie (Bobby) McCoy and sons Gary (Melissa) King, and Troy (Maleah) King all of Centerville, TN.
Mawmaw enjoyed the beauty of the earth and reaping it’s rewards. She loved working in her yard and canning fruits and vegetables. She and her husband enjoyed picking blackberries and strawberries of which she would make preserves to give away to all who visited her loving home. She also enjoyed making blackberry cobblers which were thought of by many as the best they’d ever eaten. Mawmaw was very patriotic and loved her country. After the 911 incident when flags were not found to be purchased she made her own from cloth she had saved from previous projects. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a member of the 1958 graduating class of Hickman County High School and married Jimmy in 1959. They enjoyed taking trips. Mawmaw was particularly fond of the Smokey mountains and the beach. The last trip she and Jimmy took was on their 60th wedding anniversary with their children on a pontoon boat on the Tennessee river. Most of all Mawmaw loved her family and God. She kept every one of her grandchildren. She taught them lessons of life and showed them how to love. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, love of family and friends, and her sincere and generous nature.
Pallbearers for Mawmaw are Peyton King, Tony McCoy, Jonathon Elizondo, Jim Brightman, Dustin Feichtinger and Kenneth McFarlin.
