Vannie Lee (Haynes) Bowen Kilpatrick passed away on May 30, 2022 at AHC Lewis County. Vannie was born on June 16, 1924 in Perry County to the late Charlie and Ada (Carter) Haynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Lester Bowen & Tom Kilpatrick; her children Joyce Dicus, Jewel Powers, and Diane Gay; her grandchildren James Michael Chappell, TJ Bunch, Laura Shapiro and Leigh Gay Warren; and her son-in-law Eddie Minyard.

When Vannie was able, she enjoyed a trip to Tunica, growing a big garden or going fishing. She was a true pioneer woman and tough as nails. She was intelligent, by her own making; always watching the news to keep up with current events.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son L.C. (Wilma) Bowen; her daughters Brenda (Robert) Treadwell and Peggy French; 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with Ms. Kilpatrick’s family will begin at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Graves Cemetery, Linden, TN.
