Mr. Ronald Curry Johnston answered his final call on February 16, 2023, surrounded by his family at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  He was born on May 12th, 1935, to the late Adlie and Thelma (Jones) Johnston in Hohenwald, TN.  Mr. Johnston was married to the love of his life Mrs. Janice (Warren) Johnston on June 25th, 1960, and together they raised a son Ryan Johnston of Hohenwald, TN. 

Mr. Johnston was a retired School Teacher, and in his free time, he enjoyed spelunking, shooting guns, serving his community, and spending time with his family.  Mr. Johnston proudly served on the Hohenwald / Lewis County Fire Department since 1985. 

Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Mrs. Janice Johnston, son, Ryan Johnston of Hohenwald, granddaughter, Amber Nelson (Lance) of Hohenwald, as well as a host of friends and fellow fire firefighters.  Along with his parents Mr. Johnston is preceded in death by his brother, Murray Johnston. 

Services for Mr. Johnston will be held at Lomax Church of Christ in Hohenwald, TN on Monday February 20th, 2023.  The family will receive guests from 11 a.m. to service time at 2 p.m. with Hohenwald Fire Chief Steve Vineyard and Brother John Hackett officiating. Members of the Hohenwald Fire Department will serve as pall bearers.  A burial will follow in the Downy Cemetery in Hohenwald, TN.
