Johnson, Valerie T
Valerie Temikia “MeMe” Dansby Johnson, was born on May 3, 1975, in Nashville, Tennessee to Ernestine Dansby and the late Pury Bennett Jr.
Valerie professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She was known as a songbird in the Church also played an important role in the Hickman County High School Choir, where her voice and leadership left a lasting impression on classmates and directors alike. Valerie was busy doing whatever the lord called her to do. She made a lifelong career fulfilling her passion as a Hair stylist. Her love for God and God’s people was present in all she did. She always had a smile, a quick hug, a prayer when needed, a voice of reason, and a loving rebuke.
Valerie left this life on August 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father Pury Bennett Jr., her grandparents, Earnest Dansby Jr. and Bessie Dansby.
Those left to cherish Valerie’s memory, mother Earnestine Dansby of Springfield, Tennessee; daughter Satin Celise Dansby (Passion Dansby) of Springfield, Tennessee; brothers Michael Bennett, Darrell Bennett; sister Angela Shine; devoted cousins Jackie Pigg Okoli, Sidney Pigg and Angela Dansby; devoted friends who were more like brothers to Valerie, Travis Staten and Jeremy Helms; best friend, Qiana Easley, along with a host of special cousins and family members.
Valerie was blessed with many talents, among them the ability to craft beautiful poems that reflected her deep love for life and others. Her words carried grace and meaning and will forever be a gift to her family and friends. Valerie had a big personality, and a heart full of laughter, she made every gathering brighter.
More than anything, she leaves behind a legacy in how she treated others with kindness, respect and a genuine heart that made people feel truly seen and valued. Her warmth and generosity will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
Now the sun has set on her time with us. Rest now, dear “MeMe”, until we all gather again on that Great Day with King Jesus. You will be deeply missed, our beautiful ray of sunshine.
