Johnson, Glenn Earl
Glenn Earl Johnson was born in Brushy in Hickman County July 23, 1938 to Willie and Nettie Johnson. He had one sibling, Virginia.
He attended Brushy School and Hickman County High School. He was a dedicated member of the Centerville Church of Christ. He married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Joyce Hann December 1, 1957 and were married almost 62 years. He was drafted into the Army and stationed in Germany for 2 years. He was an Expert (Mortar 4.2mm) and Expert (Rifle M-1). While on leave, he and Joyce traveled around Europe in a Volkswagen Beetle with friends. He returned to Hickman County where he worked in the maintenance departments of Genesco, Tenncon/Signage/Plastiline.
Glenn Earl and Joyce had three children: Glenn Earl Jr., Lea Ann (Scott) Bowden, and Susan (Tony) Todd; 6 Grandchildren: Taylor and Emily Todd, Sarah Beth Johnson, Stephen, Julie Anna and Jake Bowden.
He is most well-known for his ability to repair in-home appliances and yard equipment. He spent many evenings and weekends traveling the county (and beyond) to make repairs. Glenn Earl’s favorite hobbies included working in his garden and playing in the Beaverdam Creek with his grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on 22 Nov 2019 beginning at 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be held on 22 Nov 2019 at 1:30 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Burial will be held in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
