Wallace Jennings, passed away on December 31, 2024, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 90. Born on September 1, 1934, in Cullman, AL, to the late Andrew and Annie Jennings, Wallace’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of friendliness and kindness that touched all who knew him.
Wallace’s early years in Cullman laid the foundation for a life filled with the joys of family and the open road. His passion for driving trucks was not just a profession but a lifelong interest that kept him behind the wheel until the age of 81. Wallace’s dedication to his work was paralleled only by his commitment to his family and friends, with whom he loved to spend time, especially if it involved fishing or simply sharing stories.
In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna McBride Jennings, his son-in-law Don Bragg, stepdaughter Patty Snider, grandson Brad Snider, and his siblings Wanda Carroll, Hollis Jennings, Azalee Smith, and Wayburn Jennings. His legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Shelby Jennings, with whom he shared precious moments and built a loving home.
Wallace’s memory will be cherished by his children, Marilyn Sharpe and her husband James “Zeke” Sharpe, Brenda L. Bragg, Marlin W. Jennings, and his wife Annette. He is also survived by his brothers Larry Jennings and Terry Jennings. Wallace’s four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild will grow up with stories of his wisdom and the warmth of his hugs.
Throughout his life, Wallace was known for his loving nature, a trait that he effortlessly extended to all those around him. His advice was sought after, for he possessed wisdom that seemed to understand the ebbs and flows of life’s many challenges. His presence in a room was a comforting embrace, his friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others’ lives making him a cherished companion and friend.
Visitation with family and friends will be held in the Chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Hinestown Cemetery in Summertown, TN.
