Jerry W. James, of Hohenwald, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the age of 81.

Jerry was born on June 30, 1939, to Jesse Sr. and Della (Lancaster) James on Slippery Creek. He married his wife, Shirley, in 1969 and they raised their family together. He was a truck driver and a minister at Piney Baptist Church for a number of years, and was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church at the time of his passing.

He leaves behind his children: Pam (William) Carroll-Hohenwald, TN, Tommy (Loree) James-Columbia, TN, Sharlene (Nathan) Hensley-Hohenwald, TN, and Charissa (Royde) Weaks-Murfreesboro, TN, Grandchildren: Keith Carroll, Nick Carroll, Chris James, Sara James, Zach Hensley, Royeanne Weaks, Hannah Weaks, Brooke Weaks, and Olivia Weaks, Great Grandchild: Jesse Hensley.

Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Carter, Jessie, Jr., Dewey, Bill, Paul, Jimmy, Larry, and Bob James, sisters Verna Garrison, Nell Schultz, Nancy Cotham, and Lillian Carroll.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. Bert Spann and Roger Banks will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald.
