Charles Edward Jackson Jr. departed this earthly life on August 1, 2024 at the age of 72.
When we’ve been there 10,000 years bright shining as the sun. We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we’ve first begun.
Charles Edward Jr. was born on May 9, 1952, to Pastor, Charles E. Jackson Sr. and Arie B. (Bonds) Jackson in Dickson TN.
Ed, as he was affectionally known, received his early education in the Hickman County school system. He attended O.H. Bernard High School in Centerville, TN. While visiting with family in Tennessee his uncle George encouraged him to come back to Michigan with him. In 1969 he journeyed to Saginaw, Michigan and became employed with General Motors Grey Iron Foundry. After the foundry he later became employed in the construction industry. Ed was also known as Charlie he had many names and a great heart.
On July 4, 2002, he married Brenda Haywood and in 2003, they relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Charles E. Jackson III, Juma Y. Haywood, Marlon D. Bowen, Curtis L. Haywood, Giovanni J. Jackson, Kindell Haywood. 50 grandchildren. Four great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by sisters, Arie (Eugene) Moten, Cathey (Alvaskar) Fowlkes, Monica D. Primm. Brothers, John A. Jackson, G. Kenneth Jackson, Benjamin C. Jackson. Aunt Betty Bonds, and a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Haywood -Jackson; his parents, Pastor ~Charles & Mrs.Arie Jackson; grandparents, Will and Fannie Jackson, James and Gertrude Bonds; brothers, James and Gary Jackson; special cousin, Johnnie Hardison; aunts, Janie Corbin and Katie Haymer; uncles, John W. Jackson, J.W. Bonds and George Bonds.
