Elizabeth Marie Hudgins, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 57 in Columbia, TN. Born on August 12, 1967, in Hohenwald, TN, Elizabeth was a cherished daughter to the late Roy and Bonnie Hudgins. Her life was a testament to the love and compassion she so freely extended to everyone she met.
Elizabeth’s journey was marked by the bonds she formed with her family and friends. Though she was predeceased by her son Christopher Nathan Barnes, her brothers Roy Hudgins Jr. and Kenneth Kephart, and her sisters Linda Fay McConnell and Deborah Jean Hudgins, she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her surviving siblings Brenda (Michael) Wix, Jim (Tina) Hudgins, James (Dawn) Hudgins, and Bill (Dianne) Hudgins, along with sister-in-law Frances Jean Hudgins, will hold her memory dear. Elizabeth played a special role in the lives of her nieces and nephews—Chloe, Jennifer, Shelley, Kayla, Hillary, Samantha, Heather, Tony Pitts, Cory Pitts, Ray Kephart, Steve Hudgins, Kyle Hudgins, Cody Hudgins, and Lee Hudgins—instilling in them the virtues of love and kindness.
Elizabeth’s passion for knitting was well known among her family and friends. Her handcrafted creations were not only beautiful but also showed the affection and care she put into every stitch. Elizabeth’s friendly nature extended beyond her immediate circle, and she was fortunate to have a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who enriched her life immeasurably. Those who knew Elizabeth would describe her as loving, kind, and friendly. Her presence was a source of joy and comfort to all, and her absence will be felt deeply.
The family invites those who were touched by Elizabeth’s life to join them in a visitation on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services. Following the service, Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Napier Cemetery, where she will be surrounded by the beautiful Tennessee landscape she so dearly loved.
