Hudgins, Amos Jackson
Amos Jackson Hudgins was born on November 21, 1941, in Hickman County, Tennessee, and passed away on March 10, 2022, at his home in Lyles, Tennessee. He was 80 years old.
He is the son of the late Talbert Hudgins and Addie Hooper Hudgins.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Jenkins and grandchildren William and Elaine Warwick.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Margaret Tidwell Hudgins. Daughters Teresa Yates (Fred), Cheryl Toy (Jerry), Christy Warwick (Shannon), and Cheryl Hudgins (Micha). Grandchildren: Ronnie, Jonathan, Casey, Heather, Crystal, Cody, Amanda, Dustin, and Dalton. Great Grandchildren: Mikayla, Aiden, Allison, Blaze, Damion, Heath, Jade, Taylor, Adam, Leah, Rosalie, Destiny, Chase, Harper, Hunter, and Wheeler. Great Great Grandchild Jax. Along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Mr. Hudgins last worked at Turney Center as a Correctional Officer. He was also a veteran of the United States Airforce and served for seven years.
He loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He would fish for whatever would bite but loved to catch catfish. He hunted all types of game, but loved going after coons. He raised several coon dogs and even went as far as New York to pick one up.
To his grandchildren, and most others, he was known as “Grumpy”. He was always picking on someone about something. Behind all the picking he was a man who was always there if you needed him, even when he was down and sick. He loved his family and his grandchildren very much.
Visitation will be 13 March 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and 14 March 2022 from 11:00AM – 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
