Horner, Sue Ann
Sue Ann Horner, born on April 14, 1939, in Pleasantville, Tennessee, to the late Herman Benjamin and Edna Elizabeth Cross Horner, entered eternal rest on June 9, 2025, in Centerville, Tennessee, at the age of 86.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Buddy” Howell; her brothers, Wilbern Horner and Loyd Horner; her sister, Hilda Buckingham; and her son-in-law, Jeff Bishop.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Valerie Bishop and Regina (Joe) Roark; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha (Barry) Claud, Will (Crystal) Worley, Kayla (Chris) Stevens, Aaron (Morgan) Tygret, and Ryan (Katie) Tygret; and her adored great-grandchildren, Seth (Annika) Williams, Willow Worley, Olivia Bishop, Elleigh Stevens, Landon Stevens, Tucker Tygret, Finley Tygret, and D.J. Tygret. She also leaves behind her sisters, Lois Gilbert, and Judy Goodman; sister-in-law, Brenda Horner; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Sue had a deep love for her family and friends, which she showed through the many ways she cared for them. She found joy in her gardens, where her green thumb brought flowers and vegetables to life. She also had a passion for painting and found great happiness in cooking meals for those she loved.
Sue was a long time member of the Nunnelly Church of Christ. A devoted nurse for more than thirty years, Sue served patients in hospitals across Centerville, Columbia, and Nashville. Her compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others were hallmarks of her life and career. She had a true servant’s heart, and her gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Sue will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she poured into every aspect of her life.
Visitation with the family will be 14 Jun 2025 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Burial to follow at Charles L Nickell Memorial Park, Centerville, TN.
