Hoffman, Constance
Constance Hoffman, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on September 1, 1953, in Seattle, Washington, she was a woman whose kind spirit and generous heart left a mark on everyone she met.
Constance, affectionately known as Ms. Connie to her friends, was the daughter of the late Clyde and Adelaide Smith. Her early life in Seattle set the stage for a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of her passions. She completed her high school education in her hometown.
Her career journey began with a bold step as she became the first female painter to join the workers’ union in Seattle. Her skilled hands and keen eye for detail quickly earned her respect in a field that was largely male-dominated. Constance’s pioneering spirit did not stop at her trade; she found love with Stanley Hoffman, and together they embarked on a culinary adventure, opening a beloved delivery deli. Although their marriage concluded, their friendship remained.
An avid gardener and nature lover, Constance found peace in the soil and joy in the bloom of each new flower. Her garden was not just a place of beauty, but also where she shared seeds and stories with anyone who showed an interest. Her move to Tennessee brought new landscapes to explore and new friendships to cultivate. She joined the 11th Hour Ministry, where her faith blossomed as she was baptized as a faithful Seventh-day Adventist. Constance’s love for Jesus was a wellspring of inspiration, and she took every opportunity to share her faith with others.
Her interests were as varied as they were fervent. Rock collecting became a hobby that reflected her appreciation for the enduring beauty of nature. Animals held a special place in her heart, with her precious baby cat, Miss Kitty, ruling her home with a gentle paw.
Constance will be deeply missed by her close friends, George and Gina Straughn, who stood by her through thick and thin. They, along with her church family, will hold dear the memories of the times they shared, filled with laughter, shared meals, and profound conversations.
A celebration of Life memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Brother George Straughn will be officiating.
