Hobbs, Gerald Andrew
Gerald Andrew Hobbs, passed away peacefully in his birthplace of Hohenwald, TN, on March 26, 2025, at the age of 53. Gerald’s early years in Hohenwald were filled with the joys of small-town life, where he grew up surrounded by a close-knit community that would become the pavement for his lifelong friendships and memories.
Gerald was a man whose heart was as vast as the great outdoors he adored. He dedicated countless hours to deer hunting, turkey hunting, and fishing, finding solace in the silent conversations between nature and himself. These moments, often shared with family and friends, were among his most treasured. His passion for the wild was matched only by his enthusiasm for coaching Jr. Pro football, a role in which he shaped the lives of young athletes for several years with the same patience and care he showed the natural world.
He was the beloved son of the late Jesse Earl and Barbara Jean Staggs Hobbs, who instilled in him the values of family and hard work. Gerald is survived by his children, Crystal (Kyle) Crowell, Drew Hobbs, and stepdaughter, Shaunda Sealey. His role as a grandfather to Brooklyn Leahea, Dalton Lee, Nalah Mae, Boone Thomas, Augustus Knox, Tegan Trace Randall, Swayze Koa, Riley Abigale, and Jackson Konner were ones he cherished deeply.
Gerald, a brother and friend, is survived by siblings Nickie Shoemaker, Jessie Tims, Stephanie Woods, and William Hobbs, and he now joins his brother Bobby Earl Hobbs in peaceful rest.
As we say goodbye to Gerald Andrew Hobbs, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by an unrelenting positivity and a humor that knew no bounds. While he will be missed, his memory will continue to inspire smiles and kindness in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
