Hinson, Hessie Alma
Ms. Hessie Alma Hinson peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2020 just days shy of her 96th birthday. She was born in Perry County on November 8, 1924 to the late Henry Albert and Nora (DePriest) Shelton. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Lockie Bunch.
In 1953 she married the late Leslie Hinson and spent her life as a homemaker and caregiver to their children. She would take on any task at hand and never ask any questions. During the depression era she and her family would help local families through the grieving process of losing a loved one and later in life would sit in the local funeral home greeting families with her infectious smile as they entered the door. In her quiet time she enjoyed quilting and attending church with her family.
Ms. Hessie is survived by her daughter Joy (Allan) Kerns of Dickson; step-daughter Opal Robertson; one grandchild; and a host of step grandchildren.
A graveside service at Hinson Cemetery will be held Saturday November 7,2020 beginning at 1:00 pm with Brother Jerry McDonald officiating.
The family would like to leave you with a quote from Ms. Hessies’ grandparents Zeke and Adline. ” Don’t do anything that’s not of the bible, serve others and have a good life; and you’ll end up in God’s hands”.
