Raymond Hensley, Funeral services for Raymond Hensley, a retired Hohenwald business owner, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the First United Pentecostal Church with Bill Luther, Walter Droke and Marcus Webb officiating. Burial followed in the Downey Cemetery. Mr. Hensley, 91, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at his residence in Lewis County. McDonald Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He was born March 2, 1919 in Hohenwald to the late Willard Frank and Melvina Kilpatrick Hensley. Mr. Hensley, with his wife, Jean, were owners and operators of Hensley Cycle Center in Hohenwald for 30 years. He worked as a supervisor for Genesco for 37 years and was a representative of MFA/Shelter Insurance for 30 years. He and his wife served as secretary/treasurer of the First United Pentecostal Church for 50 years. He was Chairman of the Board and Sunday School teacher for 40 years, serving many other capacities as well. He is survived by his wife, Jean Shelby Hensley of Hohenwald; three sons, Jim (Linda) Hensley and Dr. Joey (Gina) Hensley, both of Hohenwald, and Johnny (Vicky) Hensley of Cordova; one daughter, Martha Nell (John) Bryan of White House; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Willard, Robert and Ross Hensley; sisters, Marie Sharp and Ruby Webb and two grandchildren.
