Henley, John Tommie Sr
John Tommie Henley, Sr. of Lyles, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 95. He was born on May 10, 1929, in Aetna, Tennessee, to the late Cletus William and Vicie Breece Henley.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jo Henley; sons Randy Henley and Aaron Henley; grandson Adam Henley; and his siblings, Red Henley, Bill Henley, Joe Henley, and Vivian Moran.
He is survived by his daughters, Christa (Bob) Filipovic and Tina (Billy) Allsbrooks, son Johnny Henley Jr., seven cherished grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
John was known for his deep love of nature, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He took great pleasure in bird hunting, mowing hay, riding his tractor, and tilling the soil. He found peace in the beauty of God’s creation and treasured his time spent outdoors.
John’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His unwavering faith, love for his family, and connection to the land will forever be remembered.
Visitation with the family will be 27 March 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be held 28 March 2025 at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Memory Gardens, Centerville, TN.
