Henderson, Wilma Dean
Wilma Dean Henderson, a woman known for her creativity and love, passed away at the age of 76 in Hohenwald, Tennessee, on January 22, 2025. Born on March 4, 1948, in Salinas, California, Wilma was the daughter of Homer and Mattie Henderson, who preceded her in death.
Wilma’s life was marked by her unwavering friendliness and the loving bonds she fostered with all who knew her. She cherished her family deeply, including the love of her life, Earl Dean and her children, Donna Hinson Brown (Kenneth), Tammy Leavitt (Brent), and Pamela Schroeder (Richard).
Though she faced the heartache of losing her only son Dwayne Hinson, grandsons Samuel Hudgins and Ayden Leavitt, and great-grandchild Issac Hudgins; Wilma’s legacy continues through her surviving grandchildren Shawn Schroeder, Justin Gilbreath (Bry), Mykaela Conway (Raven), Cammie Schroeder, Madison Schroeder, James (Bo) Hinson-Zaro (Laura), Michael Hinson, Paxton Finley (Kyle), Brendan Leavitt, James, Jonothon Leavitt, Gary Hudgins, Diana Silva (Nathan), and Matthew Chobanian, as well as her great-grandchildren Lexi Belleau, Tyr Gilbreath, Jasper Gilbreath, Isaiah Hudgins, Ian Hudgins, Addie Hudgins, Cheyanna Hudgins, Zane Silva, Walker Silva, Lily Hinson-Zaro, and Damon Finley.
Wilma was the last of her generation in the Henderson family, joining her siblings Melba Jean, Anna, Martha, Clyde, Eugene, Chuck, and Larry in eternal rest.
Known for her creative spirit, Wilma found joy in the art of crochet, crafting beautiful pieces that served as a warm embrace to those she loved. Her passion for creativity was paralleled by her delight in the companionship of her cherished dogs, Honey and Coco. They were not only pets but also a source of comfort and happiness throughout her life. In the quiet moments, Wilma could often be found engaged in playing games on her phone, a pastime that brought her much enjoyment and a way to stay connected to the modern world.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 pm.
