William Fred “Bill” Hatcher, 88, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Lewis County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hohenwald. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home with Clovis Anderson and Jerry McDonald officiating. Interment followed in the Swiss Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Hatcher was born May 21, 1922 in Rockingham, North Carolina to the late Pete and Myrtle Jacobs Hatcher. An engineer for Compo Industries, he was a Navy veteran, having served during World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Brewer Hatcher of Hohenwald; two sons, Ricky and Ronnie Jones, both of Linden; one daughter, Robyn Winkler of Hohenwald; one brother, Sam Hatcher of Wilmington, North Carolina; two sisters, Ruby Price of Frenso, California and Willa Reynolds of San Diego, California; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
