Harris, Earline D
Earline D Harris was called home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2023, just days shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born on November 19, 1930, in the Ashland community of Waynesboro to the late Nathan and Leona (Frazier) Durham.
Her family followed her husband’s job as an electrician for several years before settling back in Hohenwald around 1960. After raising her five children, she enrolled in nursing school. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1978. She was a vital member of the Lewis County Hospital team, where she devoted herself tirelessly to her work until the age of 78. She took great pride in providing comfort and care to those in need.
Earline was an avid fisher. She was also an exceptional cook. She had a knack for turning anything Randy brought home into a delicious meal. Her home was often filled with her delicious dishes, and her kitchen was a place where everyone felt welcome.
Earline’s resilience was a trait that set her apart. Life threw many challenges her way, but she overcame them with grace and tenacity. She was a faithful Christian and an active member of the Pineview Church of Christ and then the Springer Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Nathan and Leona Durham, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Ray Harris; her siblings, Bonnie (David Ray) Fields and Franklin Durham; and her children, Carolyn Adams and Steven Roy Harris.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Jewel (Paul) Stubbs of Huntsville, AL, Laura (Ken) King of Campbellsville, TN, and Randy Lee (Glenda) Harris of Hohenwald, TN; siblings, Martha Sue Gore and Linda (Wayne) Kelley; sister-in-law, Linnie Durham; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the Harris family will be on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County. Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County.
