Hancock, Eugene Vernon
Eugene Vernon Hancock passed away on February 27, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on December 16, 1962, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Eugene was a proud veteran, dedicating 22 years of his life to the Navy before retiring. He owned and ran Lewis County Feed for a decade.
Eugene was a man of exceptional character; his stubbornness was matched only by his immense love and generosity. He was the kind of person who would offer the shirt off his back and the last dime in his pocket without a second thought. His intelligence shone through in his ability to fix anything that was broken, and he took great joy in teaching others to do the same.
A great dad and husband, Eugene’s love for the outdoors was evident in his meticulous care for his expansive garden. His legacy of kindness, wisdom, and resilience will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Sharyn Hancock; his children, Eugene Hancock II and Alex (Kevin) Gilpin; his grandson, Theo Gilpin; his sister, Kathy Love; his close friends, Bruce Magoon and Tim Neves; along with many other family members, friends, and neighbors.
