Hall, Deborah Lee
Deborah Lee Hall, lovingly known to many as Debbie, passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born on January 6, 1957, in El Paso, Illinois, to the late Frank Lee Swope and Janice Marie (Ruch) Swope.
She had a special love for unicorns, baking, the Fast & Furious and Madea movies. She had a soft spot for anyone who needed a second mom – her kids’ friends were just as welcome at her home as anyone else.
Debbie had a one-of-a-kind personality – funny, quirky, a little stubborn, and completely full of heart. She would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. She loved hard and showed up for her people, no matter what. Debbie’s greatest joy came from her family and her grandkids, who lit up her world. She had a way of making everyone feel like they mattered. She never needed much, and yet she gave so much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James; sister, Susie Swope; and great-granddaughter, Sofia.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Janice (Josh) Schroader Kunkel, Melissa (Josh) Schroader DeBord, Jennifer Schroader Adams, Scott (Kristin) Michael Hall; siblings, Jim Swope, Pam Rosenberg, Sandy Swope, Lucy Duvall, Maria Swope, Kathy Service, Linda Miller-Slagel, Vickie Miller, Bobby Miller and Larry Miller; grandchildren, Kelsi Oesch, Cocetta DeBord, Sidney (Sylena) Adams, Kelton (Kaitlyn) Adams, Caden Adams, Danika Hall; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Hailey, Paisley, Kooper, Kannon, Kamden.
Visitation with Debbie’s family will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Downey Cemetery beside her husband. Pallbearers will be Scott Hall, Sidney Adams, Kelton Adams, Caden Adams, Josh DeBord, and Randy Asbury.
McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Hall family.
