Oscar Scotty Grinder, Smith Avenue, died Monday, May 3, 2002 [editor note: according to the Nashville Tennessean, Mr. Grinder died 3 June 2002. This entry was copied exactly as it appeared in the Lewis County Herald.] at Lewis Ambulatory Care Center. He was 86 years old. Mr. Grinder, a son of the late Henry and Nora Dabbs Grinder, was born May 19, 1916 in Waynesboro. He was a former employee of Henry T. Siegel factory manufacturing plant. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. in Deavers Cemetery with Pastors L.B. Bromley and Dwayne Sparks, officiating. Survivors include his wife, Elva Mae Grinder; two daughters, Nora Deavers of Hohenwald, and Theresa Spears of Orange, Virginia; and two grandchildren.
