It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Royce Gene Graves, 56, of Linden, Tennessee. He passed away in his home on Thursday, September 29, 2022, after a period of prolonged health issues.

Royce was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to John Edward Graves and Ivadale Miller Rouse on January 12, 1966. He graduated from Lewis County High School in 1984 and immediately joined the Navy. He served as a Machinist’s Mate aboard the USS Alamogordo in Charleston, South Carolina from 1984 to 1987. After leaving the military, he worked at Bates, LLC for 22 years until he was forced to retire due to health problems.

Royce is preceded in death by John and Ivadale (New Salem Cemetery – Salem, Alabama). Royce leaves behind three sons: Jared Mason Murray of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Dakota Graves of Kentucky, and Ryan Graves of Waverly, Tennessee. He also leaves behind several grandchildren.

He is survived by his sister Carolyn Middleton of Columbia, Tennessee and brother John Edward Graves Jr. of Pleasantville, Tennessee.

Funeral services and burial were held at Bastin Cemetery in Hohenwald with Glen Floyd officiating. Royce will be dearly missed.
