Dolbert Ray Gordon was born on May 8, 1940, and passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 85.

Ray is the son of the late William George Washington Gordon and Elizabeth May Black Gordon. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Rebecca Hodge, Sarah Clark and Frances Henley.

Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years Virginia Lee Beard Gordon, son Larry (Vickie) Ray Gordon, son Keith (Rita) Duane Gordon, sister Mary Sue Breece, grandchildren, William Christopher Gordon, Elizabeth (Ethan Terrell) Gordon, Zachary Kyle Gordon, Samantha (Evan) Sadler, Caitlin (Mark Hooper) Tidwell, and Felicity (Matt) Howell, and great grandchild Walker Hooper.

Visitation with the family will be 5 Jan 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and 6 Jan 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.

Ray loved to be in the outdoors even if it was just riding the mower or working in the garden. He also loved to pass time by hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
