Mr. Walter Daniel Gilbert was born in Centerville, TN on August 16, 1940 to the late Willie Tom and Nola Mae Murray Gilbert and entered eternal rest on March 09, 2023 at his home in Pleasantville, TN at the age of 82.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilbert is preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Sissom, sister Fredia Bennett and brothers Conrad (Pete) Gilbert and Gerald Gilbert. He is survived by his wife Lois D. Horner Gilbert, sons Mark Gilbert and Paul Gilbert, sisters Ann McNabb Bryant, Shirley Mayberry and Linda Halbrooks, brothers John, Bobby, Leon, Samuel, Ronnie, Larry, Grady and Dwayne, grandsons Daniel and Nathan Sissom and a great granddaughter Evee Sissom.

Mr. Gilbert had a strong fondness for walking horses, spending time enjoying outdoors by tending his place. He loved his family and his Lord. He attended the Brush Church of Christ where he was an Elder for many years.

Vistation with the family will be 11 March 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will be 12 March 2023 at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Williams Cemetery, Pleasantville, TN.
