Thomas Wayne Gilbert was born on June 5, 1950, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, and passed away on April 6, 2023, in Centerville, Tennessee. He was 72 years old.

He is the son of the late Thomas Gilbert and Mattie Mae Poore Gilbert.

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Janie Marylin Hethcote Gilbert and his brother, Charles Gilbert.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Robert Deeleamon) Tibbs of Pleasantville. Grandson, Andrew Deeleamon Tibbs of Pleasantville. Sister, Judy (Keith) Matlock of Centerville. Sister-in-Law, Kay Gilbert. Niece, Jennifer Gilbert. Nephew, Brandon (Jill) Matlock. Along with many other cousins, relatives, and loved ones.

Mr. Wayne enjoyed fishing for catfish. He and his cousins Bobby and Terry had many adventures and fishing trips together. They fished all over. He was a big fan of old horror movies and enjoyed the classics such as Frankenstein. He could also be found watching WWE wrestling. He was an excellent cook. He loved fixing the fish that he caught and grilling out. He even had his own special style of burger that he named “The Jucy Lucy”.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be April 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 PM at Plunkett Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
