Jimmie Lane Gilbert was born in Centerville, TN to the late William “Willie” Tom and Lola Mae Murray Gilbert on March 17, 1942 and entered eternal rest on December 15, 2024 in Centerville, TN at the age of 82 years.

In addition to his parents, Jimmie is preceded in death by a sister Fredia Bennett and brothers Conrad (Pete) Gilbert, Gerald Gilbert and Walter Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Juanita Faye Rosson Gilbert, sisters Ann McNabb Bryant, Shirley Mayberry, Linda Halbrooks, brothers John, Bobby, Leon, Samuel, Ronnie, Larry, Grady, Dwayne, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jimmie enjoyed camping with his wife, making items in his wood working shop such as quilt racks, working on machinery, making candles and had the talent of making things with his hands. He raised a large tobacco crop annually for 20 years. Jimmie loved children and they loved him. To know Jimmie was to love him. He loved God and his family fiercely and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation with the family will be 19 Dec 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will be conducted 19 Dec 2024 at 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Downey Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
